Do you take my insurance?

We are an out-of-network practice and do not participate directly with insurance plans. This allows us to provide one-on-one, individualized care without the time and treatment restrictions that often come with in-network billing.

If you have out-of-network benefits and would like to seek reimbursement, we can provide a superbill after your payment for your visit. We recommend calling your insurance company before scheduling to confirm your out-of-network outpatient physical therapy benefits, including any deductible, coinsurance, and visit limits, so you understand your expected financial responsibility.

What can I expect from a physical therapy session?

Your first visit is an Initial Evaluation and lasts 60 minutes. We’ll take time to understand your concerns and goals, review your medical and movement history, and perform a thorough physical exam to identify likely contributors to your symptoms.
At the end of the visit, you’ll leave with:

  • A clear summary of what we found
  • A plan of care tailored to your goals
  • Next-step recommendations

If the evaluation suggests that physical therapy is not the best fit for your situation, we will be transparent and help guide you toward the most appropriate next provider or specialty.
Follow-up visits are 50 minutes, one-on-one. We never double book, so you have your physical therapist’s full attention. Sessions typically include a combination of hands-on treatment and guided exercise; the exact balance is based on your needs, goals, and preferences.

What treatments do you offer?

Manual Therapy (hands-on care) may include:

  • Osteopathic manual techniques
  • Active Release Techniques
  • Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization
  • Joint mobilization (and, when appropriate and with your consent, manipulation)
  • Myofascial release and soft tissue mobilization
  • Strain-Counterstrain

Dance & Performing Arts Rehabilitation

  • Movement analysis and cueing to address training faults/compensation patterns
  • Support across styles including ballet, contemporary, and musical theatre

Therapeutic Exercise

  • Yoga- and Pilates-informed exercise
  • Progressive strengthening
  • Proprioceptive and balance training

Neuromuscular Re-education

  • Postural and movement retraining
  • Strategies to improve muscle recruitment, timing, and coordination using hands-on facilitation, verbal cueing, and video and/or mirror feedback
  • Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) techniques

Therapeutic Activities: Ergonomics related to standing, sitting, sleeping, travelling, physical work tasks such as at a desk, counter, in or outside of the home and back school to learn and practice safe lifting techniques. You will receive a customized Home Exercise Program (HEP) during your session. All patients receive an electronic Google doc of their HEP with video links. We review the HEP and progress it at each phase of the program.

What can I expect from a Wellness Consultation session?

Your first Wellness visit is a 60-minute consultation. We’ll review your health history, discuss your goals, and perform a brief movement/physical assessment to identify areas that can be addressed through wellness services. Most first visits also include 20–30 minutes of wellness services so you can get started right away (examples below).

Follow-up Wellness sessions are 50 minutes, one-on-one, and may include a customized combination of:

  • Personalized, guided yoga (movement, postures, breathwork, and mindfulness/meditation practices) with clear, supportive cueing
  • Pilates-based exercise, on the mat and/or reformer
  • Hands-on techniques to help address stiffness/tension or to facilitate alignment and movement quality
  • Goal setting and a plan you can realistically implement between sessions

What’s the difference between virtual and in-person visits?

In-person visits allow for full movement assessment, hands-on techniques, and use of in-studio equipment (such as the reformer), when appropriate.

Virtual visits are great for guided exercise, yoga/breathwork, movement coaching, education, and accountability—especially if you travel, have a busy schedule, or prefer to work from home. We’ll still build a clear plan, and you’ll receive individualized cueing and progression.

If you’re unsure which is best, we’ll help you choose based on your goals and needs.

What does “Direct Access” mean?

Direct Access means you can see a physical therapist without a physician referral in many situations. Depending on your state, diagnosis, insurance rules, and how long you’ve been in care, a referral may still be required for certain coverage or documentation. If you’re not sure what applies to you, we can help you sort it out.

Do you accept Medicare?

We do NOT participate with Medicare and are unable to see Medicare beneficiaries for Medicare-covered physical therapy services.
However, we can work with Medicare beneficiaries through private-pay Wellness services that are not billed to Medicare. Wellness services focus on movement, performance, conditioning, and supportive care rather than Medicare-covered skilled PT treatment.

If you’re interested in Wellness services and have Medicare, we’ll confirm that your goals are appropriate for this category before scheduling.

What is your cancellation policy?

We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a $150 late cancellation fee.

I was diagnosed with a herniated disc in my lumbar spine after a MRI in the beginning of last year. I started seeing Suzanne after a recommendation from my Orthopedist from HSS. Over the past several months, she helped me recover physically, educated me on my body's recovery process and also provided me a comprehensive home program tailored to my needs. Suzanne is a great listener and works to build a full picture of my injury and its surrounding factors. It is indeed a long road ahead for myself but I feel more confident in my body both mentally and physically. I'd highly recommend coming to Suzanne for any PT needs.

I can’t overstate how grateful I am to Suzanne. My back feels stronger (and I feel more confident and able in my body) than I have in 10+ years. She works with patience, attention, and care and is incredibly knowledgeable about the body, movement mechanics, and the psychology of chronic pain. She is an excellent practitioner for anyone who is hyper-mobile and focuses on strengthening and stability, treating the underlying, systemic symptoms even when I come to her with symptoms that feel a bit like a game of Whack-a-Mole. She also keeps excellent notes and a shared treatment plan document that I can easily reference to see what exercises or resources we have talked about.

Working with Suzanne has been a wonderful experience! I was diagnosed with scoliosis and have been struggling with physical imbalances for many years. I've seeked help from massage therapists, chiropractors, pilates instructors, fitness coaches and physical therapists over the years but they were all only able to provide temporary relief. Suzanne understood my needs and is able to provide solution addressing the root of my pain. Suzanne's approach is scientific and intuitive at the same time. Her integrative method of working with my body gave me a fresh experience. So glad I found her and would recommend for anyone looking for lasting solutions for their pain!

As a dancer, I truly love working with Suzanne. Every session, I learn so much about my body and how important it is to take proper care of it. She supported me through an ankle injury and guided me in finding safe, effective ways to recover while still managing my daily routine. She came highly recommended by a friend, and now I completely understand why. I’m so grateful for her knowledge, patience, and care, and I look forward to continuing to work with her and improving my physical well-being. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful and skilled physical therapist

Very grateful to Suzanne for her expertise and patience with my foot and ankle injuries, and her attention to my concerns about returning to dance. The handful of sessions I've had with her have been far more helpful than any of the general PT sessions I had done before -- she has been addressing weaknesses that I hadn't even been aware of, and has given me a lot of great tools and confidence that I will be able to return to both normal activities and dancing sooner than expected. She's also incredibly warm, friendly, and generous -- it's been a pleasure getting to know her along the way.

I have been to many other therapists and Suzanne is by far the best. Her knowledge, ability to explain and guide patients, is just at another level. I have chronic back problems and my quality of life has improved significantly since I started seeing her. Not only I feel better physically but also mentally.

Suzanne was recommended to me by a specialist, who described her as “a genius.” After one session, I had to agree. Suzanne went beyond the diagnoses I had been given over time to accurately identify—and explain in detail I never heard before—why my problematic back had given me so much trouble recently that I ended up on crutches. Some of the exercises were even repeats of earlier routines but explained and done correctly. It was hard work, but it made a huge difference in the strength and tone of my body. I now use what I learned whenever I go to a gym or work with any trainer. I feel and look healthier.
